Alvin Eugene Phillips
Alvin Eugene Phillips, 86, of Robbinsville, N.C., went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, Feb. 22, 2020 at Graham Healthcare and Rehabilitation.
A native of Graham County, he was the son of the late Henry and Ethel Roberts Phillips.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Emogene Carpenter Phillips; his daughters, Ellen Phillips and Karen Phillips Webster; his sons, David Phillips and Michael Phillips; his sisters, Jessie Mae Grindstaff, Bunavee Carpenter, Alowayne Smith and Patty Sue Phillips; and his brothers, Herbert Phillips, Emmett Phillips, and Don Phillips.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Sandy and Gary Williams, of Robbinsville, N.C., and his son and daughter-in- law, Darrell and Jamie Phillips, of Robbinsville, N.C.; his sisters, Edna Cox and Ann Keith; and his brother, James Phillips. He has 11 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 24, 2020 at the Townson-Smith Chapel. The Revs. Patrick O’Dell and Tom Buchanan officiated.
Masonic Rites will be conducted by Robbinsville Masonic Lodge No. 672. Burial followed at Old Mother Cemetery. The family received friends from noon until 2 p.m. Monday, at the Chapel, prior to the service.
