Andrew (Andy) Leslie McLucas, 67 of Robbinsville, N.C., went home to be with the Lord on Friday, June 24, 2022, at his home.

Andy was born in Ocala, Fla. to Bob and Jerry McLucas on Oct. 10, 1954. He attended Lake Weir High School, graduating with the class of 1972.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his stepmother, Edith McLucas.

In 1991, Andy married Angel Tosch and they were married for 31 years. For several years, they lived in Pensacola, Fla. before moving to North Carolina and finally settling in Robbinsville, thus fulfilling Andy’s lifelong dream of living in the mountains.

Andy was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved gardening and canning his produce. He was employed at Walmart for more than 20 years, some of those at the Walmart in Franklin, N.C.

Andy and Angel had a heart for foster children and felt the Lord calling them to be foster parents 9 ½ years ago. They adopted six of their foster children and were fostering another child at the time of Andy’s death.

Andy is survived by his loving wife Angel; eight children and four grandchildren; brother, Wayne (Rhonda) McLucas; sister, Gail McLucas Thompson; stepbrother, Neil (Renee) Nelms; and many more relatives and friends.

His family attended Cornerstone Community Church in Andrews, N.C.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
