Body

Carolyn Odom Mosiello, 74, of Robbinsville, N.C., went home to be with the Lord on Monday, Nov. 4, 2019 at her residence.

A native of Graham County, she was the daughter of the late Leonard and Opal Jordan Odom. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Kenny Odom, and her sisters, Dorothy “Dot” Sellers, and Pauline Farley.

Carolyn loved the Lord and she knew her faith in Christ would sustain her. She, along with her sisters, “The Odom Sisters,” sang at church services and funerals throughout the area for many years. After hearing them sing, it was evident that they were in touch with The Master.

Her family was very important to her and she loved each of her children and grandchildren dearly.

Carolyn is survived by her daughter, Shelley Waldroup Gerald (Steven) of Loris, S.C.; her sons, Chris Waldroup (Christy) and Scott Waldroup, all of Robbinsville, N.C.; her sisters, Neddine Swan and Reba McCracken, both of Robbinsville, N.C., and her brothers, Carlton “Slim” Odom and Hershel Odom, both of Robbinsville, N.C., and Tommy Odom of Cleveland, Tenn. She has 6 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Carolyn has many nieces and nephews who were each special to her.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 7, 2019 at the Townson-Smith Chapel. The Revs. Patrick O’Dell and Jim Postell officiated. Burial followed at Lone Oak Baptist Church Cemetery, near her family. The family received friends from noon – 2 p.m. Thursday at the Chapel, prior to the services.

Townson-Smith Funeral Home was honored to serve the Odom-Mosiello family.
