It is with heavy hearts that we announce that Danny Ray Jenkins, age 61, passed away on Monday Feb. 7, 2022, after a 6-year battle with ALS, surrounded by his wife and three children.

Danny was born in Stecoah, N.C. to the late Carroll Jenkins and Ann Edwards, on Dec. 3, 1960. On Dec. 21, 1986, he married his wife Angela Hensley Jenkins and enjoyed 35 years of marriage.

Danny leaves behind his three children, Christopher Jenkins, Amber Jenkins, and Keely Nolis; along with a granddaughter and two more on the way.

In 2002, Danny and his family moved to California and lived in the San Francisco bay area until they found their permanent home in South Lake Tahoe, where he spent his final days.

Danny was a food broker and a musician throughout his life.

With a passion for playing the piano, Danny enjoyed writing and recording his own music and played in number of bands with his friends in North Carolina and California. Danny had a sense of humor and loved to make people laugh. He enjoyed his time with his family, traveling and spending time outdoors. Football Sundays, playing golf and traveling to new places was among his many passions.

Danny was diagnosed in 2016 with ALS and was given 2-5 years to live. He stayed strong and fought hard to spend more time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his father, Carroll Jenkins of North Carolina.

Surviving is his mother, Ann Edwards of Stecoah, N.C.; sister, Dana Kilby of Flat Rock, N.C.; wife, Angela Jenkins of South Lake Tahoe, Calif; son, Christopher Jenkins and wife Shannon Jenkins of Gardnerville, Nev.; daughters, Amber Jenkins, and Keely Nolis and husband Dylan Nolis of South Lake Tahoe, Calif.; and grandchildren Brooklyn, and two twin girls, due in May 2022.

A celebration of life will be held for Danny in the summer, with close friends and family.
