Harvey Wendell Seay, age 78 of Robbinsville, N.C, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, July 3, 2021, at Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC.

Harvey was born on Sept. 30, 1942, to the late Early and Inez Sellers Seay. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Jerry Seay; and his sister, Lois Johnson. 

Harvey was born and raised in Geneva, Ala. He served his country in the U.S. Army during 1959-62.

Harvey is survived by his loving spouse of 33 years, Anita Rogers Seay; sister, Linda Prater of Enterprise, Ala.; brother, Ronnie (Sue) Seay, and sister, Doris Bryan, all from Geneva, Ala.; his brothers, David Seay, Gary (Marie) and Larry Seay, all from Dothan Ala.

Harvey is also survived his daughter, Sonya (Wilkes) Robinson, and son, Stacy Seay, all of Dothan, Ala.; sons, Toby Seay and wife, Katrina of Papau, New Guinea, and Kevin Phillips and wife Beth of Robbinsville, N.C. 

Harvey also had eight grandchildren: Casey O’Neal and husband, Jerod of Midland City, Ala.; Cameron Philippona of Houston, Texas; Dustin Seay of Florida; Macy Seay and Kaylee Seay, both of Dothan, Ala., Dominque Phillips and wife, Erin, and Gayton Leming, all of Robbinsville, N.C.; and Tapaingya Tatham and husband, Trent of Andrews, N.C. 

Harvey also had two great-grandchildren: Ava Garner of Midland City, Ala. and Ryland Phillips of Robbinsville, N.C.

Harvey was a member of Sweetgum Baptist Church. He was truly loved by all and offered a hand to anyone who needed helped. He was the perfect example of what a Godly man should be. 

All who knew him would tell you that he was a hardworking man who loved God, his family and his church. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends, church and all those he encountered in his life. Harvey left an impression that will never be forgotten.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 7, 2021, at Sweetgum Baptist Church. The Revs. Patrick O’Dell and Coy Adams officiated.

Burial followed the service at Wiggins Cemetery, where Flag Presentation and Military Rites were conducted by Carringer-Webster VFW Post #8635 and Eller-Rogers American Legion Post #192.  

The family receivedfriends from noon – 2 p.m. at the church, prior to the service.
