Hildred Wiggins

Hildred Lane Wiggins, 90, of the Atoah Community in Robbinsville, N.C., went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 4, 2019 at Erlanger Western Carolina Hospital in Murphy, N.C.

A native of Graham County, she was the daughter of the late W.O. and Ethel Millsaps Lane.        

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Brad Wiggins, and her son, Robert Lamar “Marty” Wiggins.

She is survived by her sons and daughters in law, James Edward and Vickie Wiggins of Zanesville, OH, Larry Eugene and Yolonda Wiggins of Robbinsville, N.C., Charles Kenneth and Deanie Wiggins of Reno, N.V., and Richard Harold “Ricky” Wiggins and Michael Darrell “Mickey” and Judy Wiggins, all of Robbinsville, N.C.; her brother, Hugh Lane of Robbinsville, N.C.; and her sisters, Naomi Birchfield of Robbinsville, N.C., and Ondra Walker of LaFollette, Tenn.  She has 11 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, September 8, 2019 at the Townson-Smith Chapel.  The Revs. Mickey Stewart and Jeff Jordan officiated. Burial followed at Metz Cemetery. The family received friends from noon until 2 p.m., Sunday at the Chapel, prior to the service.

Townson-Smith Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
