Jackie Darrell Williams, 82 of the Yellow Creek community of Robbinsville, N.C., went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, Aug. 19, 2021, at Mission Hospital in Asheville N.C.

He was a native of Graham County and the son of Dave and Hettie Anderson Williams. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years and mother of his children, Mildred Williams; daughter, Patricia Johnson; grandson, Hunter Mitchell Williams; and brothers, Daniel Braswell, Doug Williams and Shirey “Mike” Braswell.  

Jackie was a member of Yellow Creek Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon and sunday school teacher. Jackie loved the Lord and his family. He showed a fierce devotion to those he loved, and never failed to tell his children and grandchildren about the love of God and he prayed for them faithfully.

He is survived by his wife of seven years, Frances Adams Parker Williams; sons, Ricky Williams (Gale), Danny Williams (Carol), Rusty Williams (Donna) and Terry Williams (Karen), all of Robbinsville; son-in-law, Harold Johnson of Robbinsville, N.C.; stepchildren, Teena Parker Lee and Tim Parker; brother, David Braswell (Betty) of North Wilkesboro, N.C.; and sister, Helen Jenkins of Clinton, Tenn. 

Jackie has seven grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren, all the apple of his eye.

Graveside services were held at 1 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 22, 2021, at the Lower Yellow Creek Cemetery.  The Revs. Onley Williams, Mickey Stewart and Lance Burke officiated. 

Eulogy was given by Tim Jenkins.
