James “Nolan” Adams, 74 of the Long Creek Community of Robbinsville, N.C., passed away, Friday, Oct. 29, 2021, at his residence.

He was a native of Graham County, and the son of the late Floyd and Versa Hall Adams. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Eugene “Pete” Adams; and his brother-in-law, Darrell Lail.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Diane Grindstaff Adams; daughters, Lisa Williams, Lora Bowman and Lana Trull, all of Robbinsville, N.C.; one brother, Randall Adams (Carol) of Robbinsville, N.C.; one sister, Janice Lail of Robbinsville, N.C.; and sister-in-law, Lona Rae Adams of Robbinsville, N.C.

He is also survived by five grandchildren: Jessica Millsaps, Tori Haney, Isaac Hall, Taylor Williams and Tia Hall; and two great-grandchildren, Anna and Triton Williams.

Several nieces and nephews also survived.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m., Monday, Nov. 1, 2021, at the Townson-Smith Funeral Home Chapel. The Revs. Roger Orr and Jacky Gregory officiated. Burial followed the service at Lone Oak Cemetery. The family received friends from noon – 1 p.m. at the chapel prior to the service.
