The Rev. Luther Crisp, 86 of Robbinsville, N.C., passed away Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at Charles George VA Medical Center in Asheville, N.C.

He was a native of Graham County and the son of the late William Wade and Florence Effie Icenhower Crisp. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Wade Crisp in 2013.

He was a Veteran of the United States Army, having served during the Korean War.

He is survived by his wife, Shelia Lynn Crisp; sons and daughter-in-law, Mark and Vicie Crisp of Robbinsville, N.C., and Alvin Crisp, all of Robbinsville, N.C.; daughters and son-in-law, Maria Stewart of Pickens, S.C., and Becky and Scott Hooper of Robbinsville, N.C.; brother, Claude Crisp of Maryville, Tenn.; and sisters, Ollie Radford of Cleveland, Tenn. and Irene Overholt of Maryville, Tenn. 

He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 2, 2021 at Santeetlah Baptist Church. The Revs. Larry Icenhower, Jim Beasley and Kim Clark officiated. 

Burial followed the service at Santeetlah Cemetery, where Military Rites and Flag Presentation was conducted by the Robbinsville Carringer-Webster VFW Post #8635, the Eller-Rogers American Legion Post #192, and the N.C. National Guard Honor Guard.

The family received friends from 1-2 p.m. Sunday at the church, prior to the service.
