Marvin Lee Satterfield, 89, of Robbinsville, passed away, Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2019, at Mission Hospital in Asheville, N.C. He was a native of Gaston County, and the son of the late Willard Lee and Annie Jordan Satterfield. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Patricia Orr Satterfield Millsaps; his brother; and three sisters.
He is survived by his wife, Emmer Dean Orr Satterfield; his sons, David Satterfield, Ike Satterfield, Pat Satterfield all of Robbinsville, N.C.; Adam Satterfield of Brookhaven, Miss.; daughters, Brenda Adams of Robbinsville, N.C., Anna Kephart of Murphy, N.C.; and two sisters. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and 21 great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 18, 2019, at the Townson-Smith Chapel, where Masonic Rites were conducted by Robbinsville Masonic Lodge 672. Burial followed the service at Lone Oak Baptist Church Cemetery. The family received friends from 1-3 p.m. Sunday at the chapel prior to the service. Townson-Smith Funeral Home was honored to have served the Satterfield family.
