Roger Dale Smallen, 71 of Lenoir City, Tenn., – formerly of Dublin, Ga. – passed away Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2022.
Dale was a graduate of the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. He enjoyed a successful career as a high school football coach.
Dale was proud to be the head coach of the Robbinsville Black Knights in 1992, who won the state championship.
He also coached track and golf, in addition to teaching biology and drivers education.
Dale is preceded in death by his mother, Irene Bivens Smallen; brother, Phil Smallen; and sister, Brenda Smallen Howard.
He is survived by his sister, Connie Smallen Cordell (Leon); brother, Terry Smallen (Verily) and their families; sister-in-law, Glenda Smallen; nieces, Denise Echols, Delinda Chambers, Amanda Busbee, Kimberly Grover and Valerie Smallen; and nephews, Terry Smallen, Jr. and Ty Turbeville (Whitney).
Private family services will be held.
