Body

Roy E. Perron, 68 of the Yellow Creek Community in Robbinsville, N.C., and Parrish, Fla., went home to be with the Lord on Friday, Sept. 3, 2021, at Mission Hospital in Asheville.

He was the son of the late Roy and Ruth Grimshaw Perron.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Kevin Perron.

Roy worked in construction for many years in Florida, co-owning Royal Plastering.

Later, after working for 18 years for Manatee County Government Construction Division, he found he loved the mountains of western North Carolina, where he and Deborah were currently operating Smoky Mountain Vacation Rentals. He loved meeting the people who came to visit and tried to make sure each stay with the Perrons was memorable.

He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Deborah Romano Perron; his brother, Keith Perron of St. Petersburg, Fla.; and his sister, Pam Blanchard of West Palm Beach, Fla.  Roy has several nieces and nephews who will cherish his memory.

A memorial service was held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 11, 2021, at the Townson-Smith Chapel. The Rev. David Shuler officiated.

Townson-Smith Funeral Home was honored to serve the Perron family.
