God gained an angel Monday, Dec. 6, 2021 when Vicky Jo Cornett, 50, entered heaven, after a long battle with cancer.

She passed away with Nolan, Debbie, Ransom and Mason by her side at home in Robbinsville, N.C.   

Vicky was born to Ransom and Josephine Muncy Cornett in Louisa, KY on June 20, 1971 and graduated from Sheldon Clark High School in 1989.

Sissy made friends easily and was a blessing to family and friends across Kentucky, Tennessee, North Carolina and Florida.

Vicky said her greatest achievement was her son, Mason. She was predeceased by her mother, Josephine Muncy Cornett; grandparents, Edward Cecil and Truely Wealthy Porter Cornett; Prentis and Ada Maynard Muncy, all of Inez, KY; and father-in-law, Larry Carver of Robbinsville, N.C.

Vicky is survived by her son, Mason Crews Cornett; father and wife, Ransom Edward Cornett and Beverly Whitehead of Robbinsville, N.C.; brother and wife, Ricky Edward Cornett and Connie Zhang of Lake Wales, FL; her husband of 12 years, Nolan Mitchell Carver of Robbinsville, N.C.; uncle and wife, Rick and Marcella Blackburn Cornett of Inez, KY; cousins, Alicia Tish Cornett Maynard (Jonathan) of Ashland, KY; Kyle Edward Cornett (Kristie) of Portland, TN; aunt, Brenda Muncy Lowe, cousins, Michelle Lowe and Shawn Lowe; uncle and wife, Eddy and Brenda Patrick Muncy; cousins, Printis and Kayla Muncy, Nola Kay Prince; Prentice and Tyler Muncy; plus dear friends, Judy Kay Jude and Hope Fletcher, all of Martin County, KY; step-daughter, Brittany Carver Auffhammer; mother-in-law, Debbie Hooper Carver; and sister-in-law, Jody Carver Firx all of Robbinsville, N.C.

The family would like to recognize and thank Nolan for his commitment to, profound love for and compassionate caring of Vicky.

A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 15, 2022 at the Robbinsville United Methodist Church, 249 West Fort Hill Road, Robbinsville, N.C. Family and friends are invited to share a memory or story of Vicky.

At a later date, Vicky’s ashes will be buried at the Cornett family cemetery in Inez, KY.

Due to the risk of COVID, facial coverings and social distancing are requested for those attending.
