Virges Carpenter

Virges Carpenter, 87 of the Hares Creek Community of Robbinsville, N.C. passed away, Friday, Nov. 15, 2019 at his residence.

He was a native of Graham County and the son of the late Hardy and Aloe Phillips Carpenter. 

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son, Danny Carpenter and his sister, Alwayne Gee.

He is survived by his wife, Izetta Styles Carpenter; son Randy Carpenter of Robbinsville, N.C.; daughter and her husband, Phyllis and Bruce Brooks of Robbinsville, N.C.; brothers, Bluford  Carpenter of Peachtree, N.C., Clinton Carpenter, Avery Carpenter, David Carpenter all of Robbinsville, N.C.; sisters, Betty Crisp and Mary Rogers both of Robbinsville, N.C. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov.17, 2019 at the Townson-Smith Chapel. The Revs. Patrick O’Dell and Darrin Self officiated. Burial followed the service at Bear Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.   

The family received friends from noon until 2 p.m. Sunday at the Chapel prior to the service.
