Building items from the old days

Building items used on the farm – and in logging, in an earlier time – have become a hobby for Buster Stewart.  After retirement, Stewart began building sleds and yokes; items used on the farm and in the woods.

At the end of the day, I’ve got to pray

One Sunday – just before the sermon – the preacher asked one of the Elders to say a prayer.  The brother bowed his head and said, “Now I lay me down to sleep.” The congregation said, “Amen!”  During this pandemic, every area of our lives has been affected, including our faith.

“Equality Attack,” unpacked

The Christian season of Lent is here.  Lent begins on Ash Wednesday, continues for 40 days – not counting Sundays (Little Easters) – and goes through Holy Saturday, the day before Easter.  Lent comes from an old Anglo-Saxon word, meaning “lengthening.

The tale of Rush Limbaugh

Last week, radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh passed at age 70 from lung cancer.  President Ronald Reagan said that Rush “was the voice for conservatism and he should not worry that liberals call you the most dangerous man in America.
