Abortion could avoid life-changing issues

I was an only child.  Seven years before I was born, my parents had their first baby, but that child was born without a brain.  The condition is called anencephaly. The Greeks were very literal: the term translates as “no in-head.

We loved the Mouseketers

My parents bought their first TV in 1947.  We received three networks and the public broadcasting channel.  Kids programs like Roy Rogers and Dale Evans, Hopalong Cassidy, The Lone Ranger and Tonto and Ramar of the Jungle made up my Saturday mornings.

Don't neglect your peepers

I had no idea anything was wrong until a colleague asked what had happened to my eye.  I looked in the mirror. My left eye was red, the capillaries broken. I shrugged and went off to cover that day's court cases. The eye continued to redden.

No other name but Jesus

"Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved" (Acts 4:12). Several individuals have been reportedly struggling financially, physically,  emotionally, mentally, and most of all spiritually.

“Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God” (Hebrews 12:2). When we sanctify our lives through Jesus Christ, it means a lot of things.

Walls come in many forms

For the past few years we have heard a lot of talk about walls. This is really nothing new.  Joshua 6:1-27 speaks to the Walls of Jericho, which came tumbling down in 1400 BC, when the Israelites walked around the wall for eight days carrying the Ark of the Covenant.

Who's keeping track?

In a continued effort to ensure accuracy is spread throughout these pages, a very glaring error was discovered. For someone like me, who loses sleep if he thinks there is a minor typo in something I submitted for publication, this naturally spurned the appearance of two more gray hairs.

Slickrock once a community

Visitors come from miles around to hike (and sometimes get lost) in the Slickrock area, which is considered to be one of the more remote sections of Graham County. Most probably have no idea that it was once inhabited by a number of families.

Impeachment a complex process

Whether you are an R, D or an I is unimportant.   Whether you lean left or right or are in the middle of the political spectrum is unimportant.  Whether you are for or against the wedge issues of today like gun control or right to life is unimportant.
