Four cases in 10 days. A slow trend if you look most anywhere, but for Graham County, which stood as one of the final four in North Carolina to not have a positive case of COVID-19, it might raise some eyebrows.

Eleven years ago, the position of music director at Graham County Schools made the transition from Joseph Earp to a new, fresh-out-of-college director, Jameson Stout.  As a senior in high school, Stout’s band program underwent a director transition.

Fontana Village abandons lease

Fontana Dam – The rumor mill is not ready to completely stop turning, but the wind surrounding it has certainly died down.  The owners of Fontana Village Resort & Marina opted in a June 1 meeting with the Tennessee Valley Authority to surrender its lease back to the TVA.

Graham’s case count doubles

The numbers held steady for as long as they could. Following a three-week stalemate, the Graham County Health Department confirmed the third positive case of COVID-19 in the county Saturday. The fourth case was then confirmed Monday afternoon.

Harrah’s Cherokee Casinos Reopen to Public

Cherokee – Harrah’s Cherokee Casinos announced that it will open to the public at 6 a.m. on Thursday, May 28, in accordance with directives from the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians (EBCI). The properties initially opened on May 18 to invitation only guests.
