Linda Smith Lofty

We regretfully announce the passing of Linda Smith Lofty, 73 of Robbinsville, N.C. on Friday, Feb. 4, 2022. Linda was surrounded by her family prior to and upon her passing, at Mission Hospital in Asheville N.C. Linda was a loving and dedicated mother and grandmother to her family.

Arthur Ray Carver

Arthur Ray Carver, 63 of Robbinsville, N.C., passed away, Thursday, Jan. 27, 2022, at Harris Regional Hospital in Sylva, NC. He was a native of Graham County and the son of the late James Claude Carver and Bonnie Marie Coe.

Bonnie Stinnett

Bonnie Stinnett, 94 of Robbinsville, N.C., passed away, Friday, Jan. 21, 2022, at Graham Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Robbinsville, N.C. She was a native of Graham County and the daughter of the late Rube and Sarah Jane Naillon Sharpe.

Albert “Jackie” Bowman

With great sadness, we announce the peaceful passing of Albert “Jackie” Bowman. Jack passed away at Tsali Care Center in Cherokee, N.C. on Friday, Feb. 4, 2022. He will be missed by family near and far. Jack was born in Bakersville, N.C. where he grew up. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

Debroah Ellen Sheffey Cable

Deborah Ellen Sheffey Cable, 66 of Robbinsville, N.C., passed away peacefully at 10 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 30, 2022, at Mission Hospital in Asheville, N.C., after a very short illness with B-Cell Lymphoma caused by a prescribed medication for Rheumatoid Arthritis.

Grants to fix town’s ‘at risk’ system

Robbinsville – “At risk” Town of Robbinsville utilities are in line for several million dollars in grant money to restore and retrofit systems, town engineerings Joel Storrow told the Board of Aldermen at its Feb. 2 meeting.
