Dale Crawford Medlin, 71, changed his address from West Fort Hill Road in Robbinsville to the Golden Streets of Heaven on Monday, June 7, 2021, at the Charles George VA Hospital in Asheville.   He was born on July 26, 1949 to Clercy Elizabeth Hubbard Medlin and John Andy Medlin.

Madeline Postell Garner passed on Wednesday, May 9, 2021.  She was born on Aug. 12, 1928 in Robbinsville, N.C., to Abe L. Postell and Julie Jordan Postell.

County, Santeetlah pass 2021-22 budgets

Robbinsville – The Graham County Board of Commissioners unanimously approved the county’s 2021-22 budget at its regular meeting Tuesday.  The general fund of the 2021-22 budget totaled $18,611,891, with property taxes making up the largest single piece, at just over 35 percent of the general fund.

Statewide broadband bill moves closer to fruition

Raleigh – Another measure to bring better internet to North Carolinians has passed the House in Raleigh and heads next to the Senate.  A $750 million broadband expansion measure for all 100  counties passed the House unanimously on May 26.

James Lee Smith, 76 of Robbinsville, N.C., went home to be with the Lord on Monday, May 31, 2021.   “Jimmy” was a 1963 graduate of Robbinsville High School, where he played football as quarterback for the Blue Devils.

Jaymz Brett Jones, 26 of Murphy, N.C., whose Cherokee name is “Ganuteyo” (meaning Rope Twister) passed away Saturday, May 29, 2021, at his residence. Brett was the son of Carrie Smith of Murphy, N.C. and Bud and Tracy Jones of Robbinsville, N.C.

Tony Blevins

Tony Dean Blevins, 68 of Robbinsville, N.C., went home to be with the Lord on Friday, June 4, 2021, at Swain Community Hospital in Bryson City. He was the son of the late William Wayne and Clara Bell Shope Blevins.
