County library celebrates year with open house

Robbinsville – The Graham County Public Library threw an open house Dec. 19, to mark the end of another year of growth. Patrons enjoyed an afternoon buffet of snacks, while students of the Mountain Music Program provided musical accompaniment on their guitars.

Board certifies 2020 candidates

Robbinsville – Plenty of candidates have filed for seats on both the Graham County Board of Commissioners and the Board of Education, according to the list of names certified at Friday’s Graham County Board of Elections meeting.

Snowbird hosts Christmas bazaar

Snowbird – The third annual Christmas Bazaar returned to the Snowbird Complex on Friday, Dec. 13, as more than a dozen vendors offered an array of products from locally made jerky to hand-crafted jewelry and beadwork.

Resort, town arrange payment plan

Fontana Dam – A large monthly payment will keep Fontana Village Resort on track to become current with the Town of Fontana Dam by June. During the town’s monthly council meeting on Dec. 18, Mayor Rob Hardy discussed the resort’s plan to catch up on back payments.

New cell tower in the works

Robbinsville – The AT&T cell tower at Wachacha Bald may be rebuilt, but the earliest start of construction would be one year from now, according to AT&T’s Stephen Howard.

Ginger Fawcett put her heart and soul into her latest album. The Robbinsville native stepped away from her band Liquid Ginger to record her first solo album, Fly on the Wall. The album was released earlier this year.
