Dillsboro – Frontier Communications workers cut fiber wiring in Jackson County on the night of Thursday, Feb. 20, preventing Cherokee, Clay and Graham counties from receiving 911 calls.

'A school bus is hard to miss'

A frightening amount of school bus violations has the N.C. Highway Patrol reeling.
Since the 2019-20 school year commenced in August, there have been nine documented instances of drivers passing stopped school buses in Graham County.

Williams resigns from council

Fontana Dam – Tracy Williams’ second stint as a town council member has came to an end.
During the Feb. 15 Town of Fontana Dam council meeting, it was revealed that Williams had resigned from his seat, effective immediately. The decision was amicable, as Williams cited personal issues for the move.
