Faculty to get $3.9K supplements

Robbinsville – Graham County Schools’ officials found themselves in the unusual position of spreading extra money around – including pay supplements of $3,914 for each of 105 teachers in the district. The new funds are the result of the state budget that was passed in November 2021.

School bus, truck involved in collision

Snowbird – An inbound Graham County school bus and a pickup collided on Snowbird Road just west of I.U. Gap Road on Jan. 27. There were no injuries, but it delayed the start of the school day for the approximately 20 students riding the bus.

Culture shock

Snowbird – Considering they are both teenage girls, Giorgia Magnani and Seoyun Choi could hardly be more different. Giorgia is a 17-year-old from Cervia, Italy, a coastal tourist town of about 28,000 people on the Adriatic Sea.

Insurance to cover new elementary bleachers

Robbinsville – As the emergency repairs to the Robbinsville Elementary School Gymnasium near completion, it has been found that new bleachers will also be needed, on top of the work done on the structure’s floor and walls.

Graham County Schools welcomes Erlanger clinic

Robbinsville – Graham County schools students and staff needing several healthcare services now have the option of receiving it on school property.  On Tuesday morning, the ribbon was officially cut on the Erlanger Western Carolina school-based clinic, located at Robbinsville Elementary School.
