Robbinsville – Three Graham County Schools educators have been named the best of the 2020-21 school year. In June, Graham County Schools announced its three teachers of the year, as picked by their peers and district leadership.

Food truck set to make debut

Robbinsville – Graham County Schools is gearing up to roll out one of its newest assets to serve the community. After several months of work, the district’s new food truck will soon be ready to transport meals to virtual learners in remote areas of the county, as well as serving in other roles.

Commissioners approve new middle school financing

Robbinsville – An ongoing project project took a big step forward last week, when the Graham County Board of Commissioners unanimously approved new financing to build the new middle school wing. During its Jan. 18 meeting, the board unanimously approved paying an additional $103,670.
Due to rain, last year’s Trunk-or-Treat event had to be moved inside the Robbinsville Elementary School gymnasium. Though the 2020 installment will be held outdoors, COVID-19 protocols will see people spread much further apart than last year.

A sense of normalcy

Robbinsville – After going through a proverbial roller-coaster of planning, the annual Trunk-or-Treat event will take place from 3-6 p.m. Saturday at Robbinsville High School.

County schools tightening down on attendance policy

Robbinsville – Citing a lack of participation from remote learning only students, Graham County Schools is amending its attendance policy.

Everyone collectively held their breath when students began the 2020-21 North Carolina school year Aug. 17. In the world of a “new normal,” students statewide were subjected to temperature checks and a quick questionnaire, before entering the doors of their respective schools.
