Hiwassee Dam – If you are keeping track at home, that’s one goal down and two to go. The Robbinsville Lady Knights confirmed their dominance over the Smoky Mountain Conference on Monday, adding the program’s fifth-straight divisional title with a 7-3 win at Hiwassee Dam.
It was another history-making night Tuesday for Robbinsville junior Desta Trammell, who shattered the state consecutive free-throw record during the semifinals of the Smoky Mountain Conference tournament against Cherokee.

Robbinsville – Anyone who expected another slugfest between Robbinsville and Murphy on Tuesday were left disappointed.  That is, unless you’re a Lady Knights fan.

2nd time through the order

Cherokee – The first leg of a 3-game road trip started on the right foot. The Robbinsville Lady Knights (5-1, 5-1) traveled to Cherokee on Friday and in five innings, disposed of the Lady Braves (2-3, 2-3) in an 11-0 rout.

Shining brighter than the diamond

Robbinsville – It’s been a while. But after 22 months without playing an official game on its home field, the Robbinsville varsity softball program has finally gotten back on the diamond. “I’m so thankful for every day that we get to be out here,” said Lady Knights head coach Billy Knight.

Knocking off the rust

Hiwassee Dam – If Saturday was any indication, Robbinsville basketball looks primed to move into the upper echelon of competition in the Smoky Mountain Conference. Graham County’s contribution to the division bused both varsity squads to Hiwassee Dam for a preseason scrimmage against the Eagles.

Locked and loaded

Robbinsville – Any sign of on-court rust or a lack of cohesiveness in the season debut against Rosman was quickly eliminated. Following a 4-set loss to the Lady Tigers in the Smoky Mountain Conference opener Nov.

Early success not enough

Robbinsville – The second meeting of the season between Murphy and Robbinsville was surrounded by a lot of hype. For the first quarter, it appeared the Lady Knights had things well in-hand. For the remaining three quarters, the Lady Bulldogs proved different.
