* Six Robbinsville Black Knights were named All-Smoky Mountain Conference: James Hall, Brandy Jones, Travis McCracken, David Rogers, Michael Shuler and Jeremy Wachacha. Additionally, Shuler was also picked as the division’s Back of the Year. Eddie Brooms, Chris Eller and Ryan Oliver each received an honorable mention. Head coach Dale Smallen shared the Coach of the Year honor with Murphy's David Gentry and Swain County's Boyce Deitz.

* In an intercounty clash, Robbinsville hosted Stecoah and swept the Tornadoes. The Lady Knights won 45-29, while the Black Knights garnered a 56-29 victory. April Holder's 18-point evening led the Robbinsville girls, while Angie Shelton scored nine to lead the Lady Tornadoes. In the boys contest, Darrin Self dropped 21 for the Black Knights and Mark Briggs connected for 23 to lead Stecoah’s offense.

* Mountain View hosted – and buzzed – the Hayesville Yellow Jackets, with the girls triumphing in overtime 51-42 and the Highlanders downing the visitors 63-57 in the boys showdown. Annice Millsaps and Rena Shope both scored 15 to lead the Mountain View girls, while Harold Beasley posted 21 to lead the Highlanders.
