Feb. 27, 1986

* Stecoah split a pair of girls contests, falling 40-38 to Blue Ridge School but defeating Nantahala 40-37. Leading the Lady Tornadoes against the Bobcats was a double-double from Danyell Wilson, who finished with 14 points and 15 rebounds. Lisa James topped the scoreline in the victory, dropping 14 on the Hawks.

* Three Tornadoes were named to the All-Far West Conference list. Mark Briggs qualified for the Stecoah boys, as did James for the girls. Meanwhile, Angel Shelton received an honorable mention for the Lady Tornadoes.

Feb. 27, 1970

* Stecoah and Robbinsville's girls were paired together in the first round of the state playoffs, with the Lady Tornadoes edging out a 34-28 triumph. Sandra Crisp was the Lady Knights' top producer, scoring 12 for Robbinsville; however, The Star did not report the Tornadoes' contributors to the outcome.

* The Black Knights fared better in their postseason game, knocking off the Glenville Lakers 65-57. Dale Walsh finished with a Robbinsville-best 19 points, while Allan Lakey posted 18.
