* Robbinsville split a tri-match with Sylva and Hayesville. The Black Knights trailed Sylva by 24 points, before Lynn Hooper scored a pinfall that set off a chain reaction of victories in the middle weight classes. The dual was tied 33-33, before a tough loss at heavyweight spoiled the outcome and handed the match to Sylva 39-33. The Knights fared much better against the Yellow Jackets, prevailing 57-6.
* Both varsity basketball programs won a set of games by slim margins. The Black Knights defeated Swain County, 60-58; Tom Barlow led Robbinsville with 23 points. Against Hiwassee Dam, the boys edged out a 67-65 triumph; Darrin Self's 16-point evening topped the Knights' score column. Meanwhile, the Lady Knights sliced Swain County 48-47; April Holder connected for 26 in the victory. Robbinsville's girls finally enjoyed some breathing room in a 51-36 win over Hiwassee Dam; Holder recorded 18 to lead the charge.

* The Lady Knights squeaked out a 33-25 win over Franklin. Sandra Crisp led Robbinsville with 14 points. Graham County's lassies showed more confidence two nights later in a 49-29 exorcising of the Swain County Lady Devils. Crisp again led the way, this time with a double-double: 14 points, 18 rebounds. The Lady Knights were 9-0 (3-0 in conference play) on the year.
* Robbinsville dropped a tough 57-51 outing to Franklin. David Jenkins put up 17 to pace the Black Knights. The cagers got back on the right path against Swain County, collecting a 61-53 win. Dale Walsh dropped 17 on the Maroon Devils, leading Robbinsville to victory.
