* Robbinsville's cagers took part in the Black and Gold Christmas Tournament in Murphy, with the Lady Knights placing fourth overall and the Black Knights taking sixth. In the girls bracket, Robbinsville edged Towns County (Ga.), 54-53; lost 56-37 to Hiwassee Dam; and dropped a 39-34 finale to Andrews. Leading scorers for the Lady Knights were Tracy Teesateskie (15 against Towns County); and Ella Mae Teesateskie (13 versus Hiwassee Dam, 10 against the Lady Wildcats). The boys fell 67-58 to Andrews and 64-60 against Towns County, with Darrin Self leading Robbinsville on the scoreline with respective 14 and 13-point game.

* The Black Knights upended Cherokee in a road game, 65-51. David Jenkins led Robbinsville with 17 points – all of which he dropped in the first half – and also pulled down 13 rebounds. Allan Lakey added 14.
* Robbinsville's varsity girls trounced Cherokee, 56-29. Ellen Walker and Sandra Crisp each hit 16 for the Lady Knights; Walker grabbed a team-best 17 rebounds, while Crisp snagged 10 boards of her own. Robbinsville was 7-0 (3-0 in conference play) on the year.
