* The fourth annual Smoky Mountain Future Stars Basketball Camp was set to be held at Robbinsville High School. The camp was hosted as a joint effort by Robbinsville boys coach Don Icenhower and Murphy boys coach Boyd Shields.

* Anyone planning to enjoy the Old Rock Gym during the summer was forced to make alternative plans. Due to the removal of asbestos inside Robbinsville Elementary School, furniture was set to be stored inside the gym throughout the summer.

* Allen Lakey signed to play college basketball at Winston-Salem Business School. A two-time, All-Conference player, Lakey averaged 14 points per game; 7.2 rebounds; and was 62 percent from the foul line.
