Oct. 2, 1986

* The Knights fell in the Smoky Mountain Conference opener to Swain County, 35-6. Robbinsville's only touchdown came when Eric Crisp rushed across the threshold on a five-yard carry in the third quarter.

Oct. 2, 1980

* Robbinsville ended a nine-year losing streak to Sylva-Webster, 14-12. The Knights led 8-0 at halftime and scored what proved to be the game-winning touchdown in the fourth on a 55-yard Ricky Stiles rush. The Eagles took flight in response, as Eric Streater passed to Dana Bryson for a 14-yard touchdown. However, Robbinsville halted the conversion attempt to seal the victory.

Oct. 2, 1970

* Behind a 44-point second half, the Black Knights rallied to stun Sylva-Webster 58-28. Robbinsville opened the floodgates when Ronnie Waldroup recorded a 50-yard touchdown rush; Mark Manuel completed a 43-yard scoring pass to Lowell Snider; Manuel ran in a two-yard success; David Jordan returned a fumbled Sylva-Webster kickoff return 23 yards for another strike; Manuel posted another rushing touchdown on a one-yard dive, which came after a Jacob Jackson interception; and Randall Birchfield passed to Randall Phillips for the final salvo.
