* Tom Barlow had two rushing touchdowns in Robbinsville's 28-6 homecoming win over Andrews. Darby Snider scored the first Knights joust, a two-yard heave with 28 seconds left in the first quarter. Barlow's two scores came on a pair of one- and four-yard runs in the third, while Eric Crisp scampered for 18 yards in the fourth. Christian Pagel was a perfect 4-for-4 on PATs. Andrews' only touchdown came in the third, when Michael Phillips weaved through heavy traffic for a 95-yard punt return.
Sept. 25, 1980
* The Black Knights gave Cullowhee no chance, stuffing the Rebels 44-0. Kevin Waldroup scored the first touchdown of the night and ran in the conversion; he later ran in another touchdown and conversion in the second. Ricky Stiles had a pair of second-period strikes, with the latter followed by Danny Jordan reeling in a two-point pass from Willie Perkins. The duo paired up again in the fourth for a 53-yard touchdown, before Bucky Brown stepped up and ran in the conversion. Brown then polished off the dominant win by returning a Cullowhee punt 38 yards for a score with under two minutes left to go. Defensively, Jordan had three sacks and Brown also recorded a fumble recovery.
Sept. 25, 1970
* Robbinsville captured its third-straight Smoky Mountain Conference title by winning a 20-6 clash at Hayesville. Ronnie Waldroup scored on a seven-yard rush to cap the first drive of the game, before Larry Sawyer tacked on a conversion run. Jackets quarterback Cary Bracken slipped a third-quarter touchdown pass to Dennis Woody for Hayesville's lone score. Waldroup continued to be the difference maker by returning a punt 52 yards for a touchdown and picking off a pass late in the game. Sawyer finished off the victory with a three-yard carry over the goal line.
