Robbinsville – The results are certified. Now the challenges can begin. An unusually-high number of write-in candidates for the Town of Lake Santeetlah council popped up on the unofficial results after the general election Nov.

Santeetlah council approves draft audit

  Lake Santeetlah – A local town’s draft audit was unanimously approved in a special meeting last week. The Town of Lake Santeetlah’s audit moves the paying of the town’s loan to its general fund from its water and sewer fund.

Downtown named to national register

Robbinsville – The county’s largest municipality has had its history further acknowledged. Recently, it was announced that downtown Robbinsville would be listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Sex offender re-sentenced

Almond – A registered sex offender was sentenced to 26-41 months in prison Oct. 27 for failing to report a change of address to local authorities. Charles Mack Curtis Anderson, 40, was indicted after moving to 938 Lower Panther Creek Road in the Almond portion of Graham County in April.

County goes wet; Adams elected mayor

Robbinsville – It might go down as the most monumental ballot in the history of Graham County. Tuesday’s municipal election results featured a lot of surprises, but one portion of the Town of Robbinsville’s ballot looked to let city residents decide whether alcohol should be sold within its limits.

Council weighs garbage truck purchase

Fontana Dam – One local municipliaty is continuing to work toward acquiring a new garbage truck. At the Town of Fontana Dam council’s regular meeting held on Oct. 20, the council discussed plans to acquire a new garbage truck to serve the town.
