Deputies seize drugs

Robbinsville – A local man was charged with heroin and methamphetamine possession Friday morning after the drugs were discovered inside a vehicle parked on Fletcher Hooper Road.

Vaping sparks debate

Reports tell us that e-cigarettes – more commonly known as vaping – has a tremendous effect on the developing brains of teenagers or adolescents.  The U.S. Food & Drug Administration said e-cigarette use, from 2017-18, increased 78 percent among high school students (11.7 percent to 20.

GREAT gets new leader

Robbinsville – After 11 years as director of GREAT (Graham Revitalization Economic Action Team), Rick Davis literally handed over the mic to the organization’s new director, Michelle Shiplet, during Thursday’s meeting at The Hub Restaurant.

Think before you drink creek water

“The best water in the world rolls off lizard backs.” This is a common refrain in areas where the water runs clear and seemingly pure, but folk wisdom fails to account for the variety of RWIs (recreational water illnesses), that humans can catch from drinking untreated water.

Foster not only option

Not everyone who wants to help foster children is able to offer a home to those in need, but there are many other ways to support foster children and foster families.  For those would would qualify to foster but feel themselves unable to do so full-time, respite care may be an option.
