JV Black Knights collect second win of week

Robbinsville – After an emotionally-charged road win over Murphy on Sept. 16, one could easily understand how the JV Black Knights might have dreaded throwing pads back on for another game just three days later. But really, Robbinsville needed just 10 minutes or so to get back into its groove.

Conference struggles continue

Cherokee – Two matches stand between the Lady Knights and a long-awaited return to the friendly confines of home. Robbinsville has been inundated with road matches this year, including playing the first 5-of-6 Smoky Mountain Conference affairs outside its home gym.

Hiker found on Big Snowbird

Snowbird – Graham County dispatch received a call from a worried father in Charlotte around 5:25 p.m., Saturday. He had not heard from his son, 18-year-old Samuel McMasters, since 1:30 p.m., Friday.  McMasters was camped on Big Snowbird Creek.

Commission candidate questions records requests

Robbinsville – Machelle Crisp contends that her public records requests should be no more than “the click of a button.” County attorney J.K. Coward says that Crisp’s requests would take several, full work days to complete.
