Robbinsville – The Lady Knights continued to work against non-conference action before delving into divisional play next week. After sweeping the T.C. Roberson Lady Rams in Aug. 12’s debut, Robbinsville (2-1) ran into another defending conference champion Aug. 14: the Franklin Lady Panthers.

This year’s on us

Robbinsville – Thanks to a collaboration between Smoky Mountain Smiles and Graham County Schools, students district-wide started the 2024-25 year Monday without having to pay for supplies.

Meals, buses and a new school

Robbinsville – A funding deficit on free lunches, the need to replace two activity buses and updates about plans to build a new elementary school were all presented in the early portion of Tuesday’s Graham County Board of Commissioners meeting.

Ella McGuire delivered some tough serves during the JV Lady Knights’ season opener Monday. Robbinsville – If the Lady Knights play the entire season like they did Monday, opponents are going to have a hard time finding a way to attain victory.

The back of the book proudly displays those who contributed to the project. Robbinsville – Being a third grader is not easy, but sometimes you have to let the good times roll.  That is exactly what Ms. Welker’s third grade class did throughout the last school year.

Massive Christmas tree coming to Robbinsville

Robbinsville – Thanks to a split between the Town of Robbinsville and its tourism authority, residents and tourists alike will enjoy a spectacular display this holiday season. First discussed as a possibility at the July 30’s tourism board meeting, aldermen gave the thumbs-up at the town’s Aug.

Meth bust largest in county history

Tallulah – An early-morning traffic stop Aug. 10 solidified the efforts of a 7-month narcotics investigation by the Graham County Sheriff’s Office. A patrol officer pulled over a vehicle being operated by 36-year-old Christy Lee Lofty around the 900 block of Tallulah Road.
Delaney Brooms took a chance by visiting Fayetteville Technical Community College on July 26 – and left with a scholarship to play volleyball.

Robbinsville – As the ink was drying on former Lady Knights teammate Aubrie Wachacha’s volleyball/basketball commitment to Warren Wilson College, Delaney Brooms was busy securing her future some 352 miles away.
