Deal struck for new school property

Robbinsville – With surveys completed, Graham County Schools has announced the price and amount of land to be acquired for a new elementary school. At Nov. 5’s board of education meeting, assistant superintendent/facilities director David Matheson revealed that 6.

‘Mighty Mites’ retain title

Until someone manages to flip the script, get used to the sight of the Robbinsville Mites standing tall at the end of each year. The group won its fourth Cracker Bowl championship Saturday, prevailing 6-0 over Swain County.

3 new faces voted into office

Robbinsville – In overwhelming fashion, Graham County voters spent the last 2 ½ weeks frequenting the polls. Of 6,262 registered voters in the county, 3,354 cast a ballot during the one-stop (early) period – or 53.6 percent.

Knights duo make history

Lincolnton – In just its second year of existence, the Robbinsville Lady Knights golf team sent two athletes to Oct. 22’s 1A Western Regional Tournament. Bentley Riggins and Abby Wehr – both juniors – made the cut for the event, which was held at Lincoln Country Club in Lincolnton.
