Neowne Adams

Neowne Hooper Adams, 101 of the Snowbird Community in Robbinsville, N.C., went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2021 at her residence, after a short illness. She was the daughter of the late Jack and Belle Lovin Hooper.

‘Well done, my good and faithful servant’

Snowbird – One of Graham County’s last-living links to a bygone age was laid to rest Friday.  Neowne Hooper Adams died Feb. 9 at the age of 101 and was buried at Carver Cemetery.  Born in a boxcar at a logging camp shantytown near Citico, Tenn. on Oct.

EBCI sets up operations center

Robbinsville – The Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians will be offering services to its own in the shopping center next to Ingles Market in Robbinsville, as it constructs a new tribal complex that will replace the dated facility in the Snowbird community.

Amy Smoker, 91, a Cherokee Language fluent speaker of the Snowbird Community in Robbinsville, N.C., went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, Oct. 11, 2020, at The Elizabeth House in Hendersonville, N.C.  Ms. Amy is the daughter of the late Jesse Teesateskie and Polly Catt Bird Teesateskie.

Annie Welch

Annie Belle Welch, 72 of Robbinsville, N.C., passed away, Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2020 at Graham Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center. She was a native of Graham County, and the daughter of the late Henry and Bessie Smoker Jumper.

Brawl ends in two arrests
