Fletcher – In her first year competing, a Robbinsville Middle School student won big at the N.C. Mountain State Fair, held in Fletcher last month.  Pacey Bradshaw, 14, received first place in showmanship in the dairy steer competition at the fair.

New DSS director takes helm

The Graham County Department of Social Services Board met Tuesday night, marking Graham County DSS Director Amy Seay’s first meeting in her new role.  Seay was hired in September, following the resignation of former Graham County Department of Social Services Director Cris Weatherford.

At long last, Graham County EMS will officially welcome a new director. Following the resignation of longtime EMS Director Larry Hembree on Sept. 30, County Clerk Kim Crisp approved the hire of Phillip Boyle as the county’s new EMS director. Boyle is scheduled to begin his new job on Monday.

Robbinsville – Graham County schools students and staff needing several healthcare services now have the option of receiving it on school property.  On Tuesday morning, the ribbon was officially cut on the Erlanger Western Carolina school-based clinic, located at Robbinsville Elementary School.
