Lake Santeetlah – One local municipality is continuing to work toward standardized speed limits. At the advice of town attorney Brian Gulden, the Town of Lake Santeetlah Council voted to hold a public hearing on a 10 or 15 mile per hour speed limit on Oct. 26. Gulden explained at the Sept.

Santeetlah – Graham County Volunteer firefighters from all stations were put to work on the morning of Sept. 7, when an East Buffalo Road home went up in flames. Despite the firefighters’ efforts against the blaze, the structure was a total loss.

Schools return to in-person instruction

A two-week, in-person break ended for Graham County students Monday. The district returned to in-person instruction – with a full mask mandate enforced – after switching to remote learning Aug. 31. “It went very well,” Superintendent Angie Knight said.

Robbinsville – A new piece of land now belongs to the Town of Robbinsville. Following a public hearing at its Sept. 1 meeting, the board unanimously approved annexing the land on which the now-closed Huddle House restaurant is located.
