Jeremiah Williams, 36 of the Farley Branch Community of Robbinsville, N.C., went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, Aug. 12, 2021, at the University of Tennessee Medical Center. He was a native of Graham County and the son of the late Oliver Joe and Connie Farley Williams.

Richard Dale Eller

Richard Dale Eller, Sr., 64 of Robbinsville, N.C., went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, Aug. 12, 2021, at Mission Hospital in Asheville, N.C. A native of Graham County, he was the son of the late David Hugh and Irene Sawyer Eller.

Deborah Jean Bowen

Deborah Jean Bowen, 69 of Almond, N.C., passed away on Monday, Aug. 9, 2021, at her home.  Deborah (Debbie) retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 20 years working in Almond, Whittier and the surrounding communities.  She was a loving wife, mother, sister and a friend to many.

Senator assists in facilitating test site

A regional medical center is receiving some help in its hour of need, thanks to an area politician.  State Sen. Kevin Corbin, R-Macon, has been able to facilitate a testing tent and extra staff for Erlanger Western Carolina in Murphy.

County EMS director resigns

Graham County will soon be without an EMS director, as the Delta Variant continues to take its toll.  County Manager Jason Marino and County Clerk Kim Crisp confirmed that Graham County EMS Director Larry Hembree had tendered his resignation letter last week, and will step down Sept. 30.

Robbinsville – It was announced last week that an “American Idol” winner will be performing locally next year.  Taylor Hicks won Season 5 of the vastly-popular talent show, launching his career as a famous musician.
