Knights back on track

Robbinsville – Following a pair of losses at the hands of Cherokee, the Robbinsville Middle School Black Knights have repelled all opposition to tally a 4-1 record.  The Knights have enjoyed all the comforts of home since the Jan. 14 defeats, knocking off Rosman on Jan. 20, Andrews on Jan.

The streak stops here

Robbinsville – It had been two years, 26 consecutive division wins and 42 regular-season wins in a row since the Murphy Lady Bulldogs had fallen. But long after the Bulldogs suffered a 34-29 road loss at the hands of Hayesville on Jan. 10, 2019, Robbinsville eyed redemption.

Minor hiccup

Cherokee – Fresh off an 8-day quarantine and a pair of practices, the Robbinsville Lady Knights felt ready to return to the court.

Trekking through the elements

Bryson City – Amid heavy snowfall and a sub-freezing windchill, the Robbinsville Knights traversed through the 1A Western Regional Meet on Saturday.

Stayin’ alive

Bryson City – For the second straight week, the Robbinsville cross country team traveled to Kituwah Mound. For the third straight week, the Knights will return to the course. Following a solid performance at the Jan.

End of the road

Murphy – Instead of preparing for a playoff game, Robbinsville is saying goodbye to its 2020-21 volleyball season. For the first time since 2011, the Lady Knights (10-4, 8-4) will not be participating in the postseason, as the N.C.

COVID shuts down Lady Knights

Robbinsville – It was just a matter of time before the global pandemic affected local sports. Following the Jan. 5 home season opener with Rosman, a player for the Lady Tigers tested positive for COVID-19. The athlete also had a mask exemption and logged considerable minutes in the contest.
