Burchfield signs with Pfeiffer Lady Falcons

Robbinsville – Gracye Burchfield has made her collegiate softball plans. The Lady Knights senior inked a letter of intent to join the Pfeiffer University Lady Falcons on Dec. 4. Burchfield is a three-year starter for Robbinsville. “It feels pretty good.

Knights split with Jackets

  Robbinsville – In the lone middle school hoops action of the week, Robbinsville hosted Hayesville on Nov. 25. The Lady Knights improved to 3-1 by picking up a 46-36 victory, while the Knights (3-1) suffered their first loss of the season at the hands of a 54-32 Jackets triumph.

Knights sweep Swain

Bryson City – Robbinsville’s middle school basketball teams swept Swain County on Nov. 21, with the girls (2-1) winning 42-24 and the boys (3-0) triumphing 55-52. Xander Wachacha led the boys with 23 points.

Knights take opener

Rabun Gap, Ga. – Robbinsville used a 25-point second stanza at Rabun Gap on Nov. 20 to propel the Lady Knights to a 56-45 victory. The Knights’ scoring was led by Desta Trammell, who dropped 19 against the Eagles.

Middle school Knights off to hot start

Robbinsville – An explosive offense has propelled the Robbinsville Middle School Black Knights to a 2-0 start to the season. Hosting Rosman in the season opener Nov. 7 and Cherokee on Nov.

Robbinsville – There’s never a good time to have a bad night.

Cross-country season ends at regionals

Newton – Robbinsville’s cross-country team capped off another successful season during the 1A Western Regional meet Saturday at Southside Park. Sophomore Aynsley Fink was the top finisher for Robbinsville, as her time of 21:58.34 was good for 16th overall in the girls race.

How Sweet it is

  Robbinsville – Success does not come overnight. It takes a lot of groundwork, long hours in the gym and countless days of practice on off-days. So naturally, when a team has played together since third grade, success is bound to happen.
