Local woman’s death labeled “suspicious”

Tallulah – Graham County officials are still actively investigating the death of 30-year-old Megan Marie Vaughn as “suspicious.” Vaughn was at a residence on State Shed Road in the late hours of April 6 when she incurred fatal injuries from a knife.

Effie Garland Sherrill, 99 of Robbinsville, N.C., passed away on Sunday, April 4, 2021, at Graham Healthcare and Rehabilitation in Robbinsville, N.C. A native of Graham County, she was the daughter of the late Dave and Mary Williams Garland.
The only public transportation available in the county, Graham County Transit, began operation in the 1980s.
