Robbinsville – The Town of Robbinsville Board of Aldermen held special meetings on Oct. 4 and Oct. 10, with one goal in mind: moving ahead on lingering water-system improvements. The board opened three bids on repairs for Junaluska water tank, with the lowest bid at $88,250 on Oct. 4.

Sylva – Four Square Community Action is a 2022 recipient of a combined $120,000 from the Southwestern HOME Consortium. The Home Investment Partnerships Programs consortium awarded a total of $850,000 to four projects in the region that will construct, enhance or assist in housing citizens.

Jenkins, Wiggins receive new court dates

Robbinsville – A pair of prominent cases received some attention during Monday’s district-court calendar. Among the many defendants present were John Mark Jenkins, 54, of Robbinsville and William Lon Wiggins, 21, of Provo, Utah. Jenkins had his court date changed to Monday, Dec.
Regina Webster (shown with her husband Dickey) was cancer-free when she went for a physical in November 2010. Seven months later, she began her battle with the disease. Today, Webster’s triumph is a win she heavily attributes to her faith in God.
