Members of the East Wilkes faithful pleaded their case, but Robbinsville junior Liz Carpenter was all fired up as she greeted Suri Watty after being called safe on a game-tying slide in Game 2 of the Western Regional Final Series on Friday. The deadlock was the closest the Lady Knights came to leading in the contest, as the Lady Cardinals went on to collect the victory and advance to the state finals.
