Robbinsville – The 2019 1A Western Regional runner-up started its next season with a 13-4 road victory at Copper Basin, Tenn., on March 9, 2020. Five days later, a global pandemic squashed the Robbinsville Lady Knights’ hopes of another lengthy playoff run.

Robbinsville – Make that two Lady Knights in three months that have opted to take their softball talents to the next level. Senior Gabby Hooper put her name on the dotted line with Brevard College on Monday, joining Maggie Knight (Chattanooga State) as Robbinsville’s two signees this school year.

Robbinsville – Another Knight is taking her talents to the next level. Senior backstop Maggie Knight inked a scholarship to play college softball with the Chattanooga (Tenn.) State Tigers, which plays in the Tennessee Community College Athletic Association. “I’m extremely excited,” Knight said.

Robbinsville – If you want to trace the recent uptick in success for Lady Knights’ softball, it all starts downtown. For the past 2 ½ years, Brian “Petey” Millsaps has operated “The Rock,” an indoor softball facility.
