* Two Graham County detectives were checked for chemical inhalation after exposure to an active meth lab, in the home of George Mauck. Jeremy Spencer and Captain Joseph Jones went to the house after a warrant was obtained. No one answered the door, so the officers had to make a forced entry and found Mauck apparently in the process of manufacturing methamphetamine. Mauck was arrested and charged on five counts and placed on a $60,000 active bond, along with girlfriend Dusty Shaffer, charged on four counts and placed on a $5,000 active bond.

* The Robbinsville Black Knights brought home two big wins in a week. Robbinsville shot 62 percent from the foul line and had 16 team-steals to boost them to a 53-47 win over Andrews. The intense conference match-up was filled with excitement for both teams. The Knights were led by Ben Wiggins with 19 points, 10 rebounds and five steals. Trent Tatham added 17 points to the game, after a lucky shot seemed to be the crucial turning point in the Knights victory.  The win came on the heels of a big 94-24 win over Nantahala earlier in the week.
