Retirement triggers new generation

Robbinsville – Shari Birchfield began the last month of a 20-year career with the Town of Robbinsville by training her two replacements. On Jan. 27, Birchfield will step down as the town’s long-time water clerk – as well as interim finance director, a position she has held since July.

Rescue Coalition seeks funding from beer, wine proceeds

Robbinsville – Natashia Phillips McFadden of The Rescue Coalition is asking the Town of Robbinsville to help fund the non-profit with 25 percent of tax proceeds from local beer and wine sales. McFadden appeared before the Board of Aldermen at its April 6 meeting with the request.

Permit fees set for alcohol sales

Robbinsville – If local businesses wish to hold a special event with alcohol included, they must pay the Town of Robbinsville $50 for a permit. At the municipality’s board of aldermen meeting Dec. 8, it was noted that Andrews’ price was $25 and Cherokee’s price was $75 for the same permit.

Robbinsville – One local municipality took no action on changing the town’s water shutoff rules, following a disagreement at its October meeting.  At its Nov. 3 regular meeting, the Town of Robbinsville Board of Aldermen discussed the water and sewer shutoff code of ordinance.

Town aldermen approve part purchase for water plant

Robbinsville – A component of one of Robbinsville’s water plants will be replaced, following approval from the board of aldermen.  The board approved the purchase of a new altimeter valve for the plant by a 2-0 vote at a brief, special-called meeting on Sept. 16.
