Giles Jeremiah Williams

Giles Jeremiah Williams, 81 of the Stecoah community of Robbinsville, N.C., passed away Thursday, March 3, 2022, at his residence. A native of Graham County, Giles was the son of the late Charles and Clota McCracken Williams.

Danny Ray Jenkins

It is with heavy hearts that we announce that Danny Ray Jenkins, age 61, passed away on Monday Feb. 7, 2022, after a 6-year battle with ALS, surrounded by his wife and three children. Danny was born in Stecoah, N.C. to the late Carroll Jenkins and Ann Edwards, on Dec. 3, 1960. On Dec.

Miranda Millsaps born into a love of music

As far back as Miranda “Mandy” Seagle – now Millsaps – can remember she has loved music and singing.   Her father Danny Seagle played with a band called “The Toy Factory” which included some members of the Marshall Tucker Band.

Ronald Jenkins

Ronald Steve Jenkins, of Humble, Texas, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Sept. 8, 2021. He was the son of Hilda Sawyer Jenkins of Stecoah, N.C. and the late Frazier Jenkins.

Joyce Elaine Crisp Jenkins

Joyce Elaine Crisp Jenkins, 89 of the Stecoah community in Robbinsville, N.C., passed away Thursday, Aug. 19, 2021, after a courageous battle with sarcoma.  Joyce – or “Joycie,” as many of her family and friends called her – was born on May 25, 1932, to Clyde A.

Wiring being explored as cause of fire

Stecoah – Investigators are still trying to narrow down the culprit behind a fire that destroyed a long-time staple of the community. Around 9:30 p.m. Aug. 2, crews from seven different fire departments – in two counties – were dispatched to the Stecoah Diner on U.S. 28 North.

Those were the days

Stecoah – It was a happy reunion for all.  Alumni from the former Stecoah School gathered Saturday to reminisce about their time attending the old school, which was closed for consolidation in 1994 after 68 years of operation.

Frankie Farr Bailey

Frankie Bailey, 82 of the Stecoah community in Robbinsville, N.C., had a change of address on Monday, July 26, 2021. She no longer resides at 237 Dry Creek Road, but is now residing in her new mansion on the Streets of Gold by the banks of the River Jordan.

Popular restaurant lost to late-night blaze

Stecoah – Some 12 hours after a fire drew the attention of a small Graham County community, smoke still lingered in the valley. Stecoah Diner – formerly known as Tooties Cafe at the intersection of U.S.
