Urgent care term is 10 years

Robbinsville – AdventHealth will enter into a 10-year contract to provide urgent- and primary-care services to Graham County.

Mill Creek – A resident of the Tallulah community was burning a large brush pile around 5:30 p.m., March 14, when the fire ignited nearby dry material and began to spread.

Tennessee man found deceased inside car on Skyway

Santeetlah – A 46-year-old man drove onto the Cherohala Skyway in the early-morning hours of March 7, parked on the side of the road and took his own life. Brendan Sean Lynch of Decherd, Tenn., was found deceased of a self-inflicted gunshot wound at the scene.

Funding for police boat signed into law

Washington – Search and rescue missions in Graham County will soon have a new resource to rely on. Congressman Chuck Edwards (R-Henderson) recently procured $80,000 in funding for a new police boat, which will be readily available to both Graham and Swain counties as needed.

As “Shoe the World” National Shoe Day is celebrated tomorrow, over 500 million children, teenagers and adults do not own a single pair of shoes. Many walk barefoot, despite the terrain and climate. They have no protection on their feet.
